Some people think the fun of St. Patrick’s Day lies in corned beef, cabbage and green beverages. Not so, I say. The true fun of St. Patrick’s Day comes from the magical giggles of young children as they set out to catch a Leprechaun. You’ve never seen elaborate plans until you’ve seen a group of preschoolers or elementary students concocting their own “Catch A Leprechaun Trap”. Some would even put Rube Goldberg to shame! Thankfully a Leprechaun trap doesn’t need to be elaborate to be good. My favorite trap we made when my kids were young was a sticky glue trap that we covered with green tinsel. We put together a fun collection of ideas to help your make your own Leprechaun trap so you’ll be ready to find the pot of gold!
The first step is a doozy! An unsuspecting leprachaun will be tempted by the gold and fall through the fake floor to land in the can in this creative trap.
