I have an 11 year old boy – his room had the theme of rain-forest with wonderful large borders and paint. I did it for him as a baby and at the age of 5-6 was given the chance to change it to anything he liked. After looking around chose to stick with his room but just wanted to change the paint color from green to blue (which having a border was lots of fun LOL) and asked if we could make the trim look like trees (paint worked). He now really needs the larger bed and we are thinking room. I really want to have fun with the decorating of the room, but I truly feel and so does he that one theme just isn’t going to work, but he would like to use a theme. (he’s into camping, animals (dogs especially), hockey, and playing games (not just video games, but any games and just having fun). The room we are thinking on moving him to has a bay window (unfortunately I would love to put some kind of bench under it but it’s not very wide and has a grate near it. Any suggestions. I would be happy to share my photos with you of the finished product and of his older room. Thanks for any suggestions.

What a wonderful mom you are! It’s nice that he get to decide. I’m sure he will love what you create for him. Just make sure that whatever you create for him will grow with him into his teenage years. They come quickly ; ) I love the idea of a camping room you can easily make it work for an 11 year old and just change out a few things when he gets older.
Good luck! What great ideas.
