Taking a Vanity From Drab To Fab

I looked for quite a while for a vanity for my closet room. What is a closet room? Well, when your kids move out of the house and you have several empty rooms, you create a closet room. Which is a room that became my walk-in closet ; )  I’ve been wanting to start on this room for a while and I’m happy to partner with BEHR on a project for this room!! Check out my designer stories with BEHR.

Having a pink vanity was a goal of mine and I couldn’t find one that I liked. I posted in an online classified group on Facebook for ISO – vanity (ISO means “In Search Of”). I had several people post their vanity for sale. I settled on one that was only $45! It was an old antique from the 1930’s that needed a facelift of paint and new knobs. Just a simple coat of paint can give new life to the things you already own or purchase. The paint and supplies were about $40 – so for under $100 I got exactly what I wanted. I enjoy painting old things and seeing what new life can be made just with paint. If you have not seen my laundry/pantry room cabinets you’ve got to check them out. I purchased old oak cabinets from the online classifieds and painted them a beautiful aqua.

So, let’s see how my vanity turned out!!

Loving how my vanity turned out with a coat of pink paint!

Here’s what the vanity looked like before. You can see that it’s very dark and beat up a bit!

Gorgeous– I especially love the new knobs! As for the awesome giveaway, I have exactly 100 uses for such a gift card as my husband & I are currently gutting/renovating a total fixer-upper. Perhaps I’d buy something glamorous like a new toilet? Or instead go the fun route and get something for the patio, instead. 😉
