A big thank you to Movara Fitness Resort for providing our team with accommodations, using their facility and trying out their new Mfit program. All opinions are my own.
A little while ago I had the opportunity to spend a weekend at the Movara Fitness Resort in Utah. A few friends and myself who are a part of the Enlighten Retreat Team attended Movara’s one-day Saturday program called Mfit. Which is a condensed crash-course of their traditional week-long fitness programs.
Movara is an all-inclusive fitness resort with state-of-the-art facilities. In fact, fans of The Biggest Loser will recognize it as the place where contestants would stay while competing on the show! It was the Biggest Loser Resort now it is called Movara Fitness Resort. The resort is located in Ivins , Utah (next to St. George) with stunning surroundings. There are many people who stay at this resort for months on end and many come back time and time again. That says everything right there!
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I loved the scenery and facilities at Movara and had a fantastic experience with their one-day Mfit program. It’s a wonderful option for those of us who are always busy and can’t fit in a whole one-week structured program. The one-day only option gives you all the tools you need to get on the track to better health and fitness but doesn’t require the commitment or time of the tradition week long option.
Since it’s an all-inclusive resort, everything is provided for you. And because it’s a place centered around getting healthy and fit, you can expect lots of healthy food, fantastic fitness facilities, and plenty of ways to relax after a long day of hiking, biking or swimming.
The grounds are beautiful! The desert plants and red rocks are such a unique and wonderful environment that just makes you want to get out and enjoy nature.
Our group arrived on Friday and kicked off the day on Saturday with a full body health assessment. You also get a printout of your results as reminder of what you can work on! It can be a little intimidating, but also works as great motivation to work on your health.
The machine shown above is what they used to perform the state-of-the-art fitness assessment! I received a print out of my weight and body fat which was quite interesting and I learned valuable information! It certainly motivated me to get in better shape.

After a delicious (and healthy) breakfast, we took off for a hike around the gorgeous red rocks that make up the landscape in the area.
They wouldn’t tell us just how long the hike was, but I was told it was going to be a beginner / intermediate hike. Let me tell you, I wouldn’t have categorized that as a beginner hike at all! It wasn’t the hardest thing in the world, but I would estimate that it was about 5-7 miles. Don’t worry – I survived! I was very impressed with an older lady who needed a walking stick to get around. She was able to do the entire hike with her limitations. So impressive!!
It was a beautiful hike and a great way to get some exercise while enjoying the scenery.

Once the hike was over, we headed back in for lunch. I had a really delicious turkey burger with mustard. I originally wanted some mayo to go on it, but I remembered that we were at a health and fitness resort and there was no chance of them having any of that!
Then it was time for a fitness class to kick us into high gear! They have different classes for all different levels, so there’s no need to feel intimidated. After the class was over we got to attend a lecture centered around health and fitness that had lots of really interesting, helpful information.
Next, it was time for one more fitness class to close out the activities for the day. As I’m sure you can imagine, I was pretty tired at the end of the day. In order to relax and soothe our sore muscles, we spent some time in the awesome hot tub, and I had a massage from the masseuse! It was a nice way to wrap up the day – girl talk in the hot tub with all friends and a relaxing massage.
I had a lovely weekend at Movara. Even though it was full of working out and healthy eating, it was a great learning experience. In a world full of fast food and machines that can do just about anything for us, it’s great to get out and be reminded of how important it is to be as healthy as possible and to enjoy our beautiful earth!
I highly recommend Movara Fitness Resort. I would definitely go back there. Great food, great staff, beautiful surroundings with lovely friends! What an awesome weekend!
