It’s the Most Wonderful Time of The Year home tour!
My home decor this year was inspired by plaid ribbon I purchased at Michaels Stores. If you saw my Santa’s Cabin in the Woods Tree, you are already familiar with my Christmas tree. Now I’m sharing the rest of my Christmas decor. This post contains affiliate links at no additional cost to you. For further details, please see our disclosure policy.
Inexpensive decorating tips for Christmas:
- I purchased a thin blanket at IKEA and cut it lengthwise to create drapes. A glue gun and 3M hooks made it easy to make and hang. So the black and white plaid drapes is actually a blanket!
- The red plaid pillows was a tablecloth purchased at a grocery store for $12. Yep, true story!! I used old couch pillows and covered them with the tablecloth. No sewing was involved in making these. I used the glue gun!
- Shop your home for decor items that can be used in your Christmas decor. The fishing bait bucket on my mantel works perfect for Christmas decor.
- Make a DIY wood sign for your mantel. Easy to make and cheap.
- Hang a wreath on a mirror – use 3M strips. I purchased the wreath at Walmart for $5.
- I checked my Christmas box for extra decor and found some more faux greenery/berry picks . I added these to the top of drapes using wire.
- See my tutorial for faux birch logs made from foam pool noodles or plumbing insulation.

Hi April,
I purchased the Jingle pillow at a local store. The personalized Christmas pillow was a gift last year from a friend. I’m pretty sure it came from Etsy.
Thanks for your kind comments!
Toni
It’s an awesome room! Talented for sure!
Thanks Kasey! I appreciate your kind words!!
Love the wonderful time of the year wooden sign. Did you make it and if so what font is it?
Hi Amanda! Yes, it’s handmade and no particular font. A good place to look at fonts is dafont.com
Good luck!
I love your Christmas decor. I was hoping to find out where you got your flocked pine pieces you added to your tree are from. I have a plain green tree and was thinking about getting a flocked one but maybe I’ll just add some pieces to mine. Please let me know if you remember where you got them. Thaks!
Hi Lindsay,
All the Christmas tree decorations are from Michaels Craft Stores! Thank you for your kind comments!
Toni
I have enjoyed looing at your talent for the last little while! So creative, so homey! I am curious where you found the beautiful picture of Jesus?
Thank you Mary! I’m so glad you’ve been checking out our posts. I love this picture. I’ve had it for a few years. You can purchase it here https://amzn.to/1PEYy0c. This one isn’t framed it is a canvas that is shipped. It would need to be framed at a shop. But it really is beautiful!
Amazing!!
So many creative ideas went into the making of this tree!
To keep our costs down I found flocked branches at our $$ store and
inserted them into our tree.
I also have a tutorial on how to make that Jingle pillow!
Merry Christmas!
Thank you – it was a fun tree to decorate. Sounds like you have fun decorating too!
where is your couch from I love it!!
It’s a Paula Deen Craftmaster couch we purchased several years ago. I really like it too!
Toni

The ribbon was purchased from Michaels Stores. View the post of how I glued the ribbon together https://www.designdazzle.com/how-to-create-designer-ribbon-using-a-glue-gun/
I love your Christmas decor! Especially love the painting of Jesus, our Lord & Savior! Also want to know where you purchased the beautiful all white Nativity scene pieces. They look handmade but I’m hoping that I can purchase them somewhere at a medium price. Merry Christmas to you & yours!!
Sorry to get back to you so late. Thank you for your kind comments. The nativity scene was made by my husband and I many years ago. We purchased greenware and painted it and fired it to make it ceramic. The picture of Christ is a favorite of mine.
