Hello! We’re Melissa and Kellie of Icing Designs and we’ve created this beautiful snowflake chandelier to share for 100 Ideas of Christmas Wonderful! We’ve included step-by-step instructions to make your very own snowflake chandelier.
materials:
glitter paper
snowflake hole punch
wire wreath
spray paint
fishing wire
glue dots
hot glue
ribbon
step by step instructions:
1. spray paint the wire wreath white or silver (color of your choice)
2. punch snowflakes out of 12×12 glittered paper (we punched a total of 145 snowflakes)
3. cut 5 strands of 12″ long fishing wire, 5 strands of 18″ long fishing wire, and 5 strands of 24″ fishing wire
4. line up your snowflakes side by side (one glitter side up and one glitter side down)
{outer ring we cut 5 strands of fishing wire 12″ long and strung 2 sets of snowflakes ~ total of 4 snowflakes hot glued back to back per strand.
middle ring we cut 5 strands of fishing wire 18″ long and strung 3 set of snowflakes ~ total of 9 snowflakes hot glued back to back per strand.
inner ring we cut 5 strands of fishing wire 24″ long and strung 4 sets of snowflakes ~ total of 16 snowflakes hot glued back to back per strand.}
5. put a glue dot in the middle of the glitter side down snowflakes and lay the fishing line over top of the glue dot to secure the line
6. put a dab of hot glue over the fishing line and place the glitter side up snowflake on top to create a two sided glittered snowflake
7. continue doing this until you have 5 stands of 2 snowflakes, 5 strands of 3 snowflakes and 5 strands of 4 snowflakes
8. onto the outer ring you will tie your 5 stands of 2 snowflakes spread out around the wire hanger, the middle ring will get 5 strands of 3 snowflakes spread out evenly and the inner ring will get 5 strands of 4 snowflakes tie on spread out evenly
9. after the wire is tied on put a small dab of hot glue on top of the wire to keep it in place
10. lay the chandelier down and cut 4 even strands of ribbon {measuring how low you want the chandelier to hang from the ceiling} tie one piece on, go directly across the chandelier and tie another piece…turn the chandelier and repeat so that the chandelier will hang evenly
11. you can simply hang the chandelier with a push pin from your ceiling
