Mistletoe Mocktail

Our cranberry and ginger beer mistletoe mojito will soon be a holiday favorite for family and friends! Hi there, I am Shauna of Ella and Annie; a fun filled site with DIY projects, crafts and recipes. My girls and I are excited to be apart of Design Dazzle’s Christmas Wonderful this year!

Try making this a mocktail for a festive kids drink. Replace the ginger beer with non-alcoholic ginger beer and remove the rum! I just love the vibrant colors and how the cranberries and mint leaves resemble holly berries. Another great alternative would be to keep the ginger beer, add vodka and remove the mint for a traditional Moscow mule cocktail.

What you need:

  • Not Your Father’s Ginger Ale (has alcohol)
  • Cranberry Juice
  • White Rum
  • Lime
  • Mint
  • Muddler
  • Sugar

Cranberry and Ginger Beer Mistletoe Mojito

Directions:

In a cocktail glass place a few mint leaves and a lime wedge. Muddle the mint leaves and lime wedge together to release the lime juice and aromatics of the mint leaves.

Measure out 1 ounce of white rum and pour over the mint and lime juice. Add 1-2 teaspoons of superfine sugar and mix to combine. Fill the cocktail glass with ice.

Pour 2 parts ginger beer to one part cranberry juice. I prefer using the ginger beer with alcohol, however there are many brands of ginger beer without the liquor. Both are delicious!

Add fresh cranberries and mint to the cocktail with a lime wedge on the rim of the cocktail glass.

Tip: if you do not have a muddler, try using a wooden spoon. Let the fine sugar dissolve before adding the cranberry juice and ginger beer.
