Did you know that last year I painted and glittered my Christmas tree? Yep, and it turned out awesome! I chose a shabby chic theme so a “green” tree wouldn’t work as well with the colors. So I painted the tree a linen color and added iridescent flakes. This year I’ve been asked by Michaels to participate in their Michaels Dream Tree Challenge again (YIPPEE!!!).
I’ve been shopping at Michaels for 20 years for my Christmas decor. It would be fun to take some photos of some of my old Michaels purchases which still look great. Michaels has been adding over the years a larger selection of pre-lit artificial trees ranging in size from 4 ft. to 7.5 ft. and even all the way up to 9 ft. Michaels is having a special tree event Nov 3 – Nov 9th. Make sure to stop in to see the details!
By the way, I’m teaching how to decorate a Christmas tree at the Pinner’s Conference and Expo. If you want to know the decorating tricks, please come to my class. I would love to meet you!
I had fun shopping for some of the supplies for my tree. I won’t tell you which ones I’ve chosen but here are a few maybes…
So many choices! My problem is I have to narrow it down. I could decorate several trees! Make sure to check back so I can show you what theme I’ve chosen. What is your favorite ornament? Any thoughts on which way I should go with the decorating?

Congratulations on being chosen again! I love your tree pictured here. I decorate a lot of trees, almost one per room every year. I am always looking for ideas. Usually I have them all up by Thanksgiving because my in-law’s used to visit for Thanksgiving but not Christmas. My MIL loved to come and see the themed trees. She just died two weeks ago so this will be the first year without her. I can’t wait to see what ideas you come up with! I always enjoy getting your blog updates in my inbox!
Congrats again!
