Recently I hosted a Merry and Bright girls night Christmas movie viewing party and it was a blast! We were able to snack on delicious Cost Plus World Market party food, drink apple cider, make some crafts and watched previews of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. One of Hallmark Channel’s new movies for this upcoming holiday season, Mingle All the Way, features a few of World Market’s products, including holiday seasonal décor throughout the movie’s set. One thing I really enjoy doing is decorating when I have a party! So my Merry and Bright Christmas party turned out so cute thanks to World Market! Their Christmas decor is awesome and there are many choices of decorations.
As soon as I saw these deer, I had to have them! They are even more adorable in person. I love the retro and festive vibe they have and of course anything with sparkles works. I designed the entire party decor around the set of 3 deer.
How about these stockings? Aren’t they just all around fun and so cute?!! These are sold as Christmas tree ornaments but I strung them on a thick piece of yarn to create a stocking banner.
The bottle brush trees with loads of glitter were just the right touch displayed with the jade colored glass cake plates. As you know, you don’t always have to have cake on a cake plate!
My girlfriends and I created some cute crafts while we played the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies using our wall projector.
We all got in the Christmas mood by watching Christmas movies, eating, and crafting. You can see the lookbook for what Cost Plus World Market items will be featured in the Hallmark Channel movies here.
My favorite hot appetizer I’ve ever made is this recipe Apricot Jalapeno Brie Appetizer. It’s not too spicy and has the perfect mix of ingredients such as brie, jam, pecans, and jalapenos. There are never any leftovers when I serve this and I’ve been making it for years! If you love easy recipes, this one is super easy to make!
Apricot Jalapeno Brie Appetizer
Ingredients
- ½ cup pecan halves chopped
- 2-3 pcs jalapeno peppers seeded and chopped
- ½ cup apricot preserves
- 1-8 oz round brie cheese
- crackers or baguette sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425F
- Combine peppers and apricot preserves in small bowl
- Cut the brie in half horizontally
- Place one half of brie cut side up onto the center of a large baking stone or glass plate
- Spread half the apricot mixture on top
- Top with half the pecans
- Place remaining brie on top (cut side up)
- Spread the rest of the apricot mixture on top and top off with remaining pecans.
- Bake 10-12 minutes until Brie is soft and somewhat melted.
- If you choose to add sliced baguettes, slice a french baguette into ½ inch slices and brush with vegetable oil.
- Add the slices of bread to the oven for 8-10 minutes being careful not to burn the bread.
I mixed the Kalamata Pesto Crostini spread with cream cheese and it makes a great dip! Try it with the parmesan crisps – delish! I love “easy” when having a party and all of these party foods were yummy and hardly any preparation!
Such a fabulous evening with friends! We crafted favors to take home and learned how to make pom-poms! We placed the small apple cider mix carton in a cello bag and tied it with a yarn pom-pom and added the cute Merry and Bright printable to the bag (see below for free printable). Such an easy gift to make and give or perfect as a hostess favor.
We had a wonderful evening of chatting, Christmas movies playing, crafting, eating and drinking. It was a late night of FUN!!
