I wrote this cute poem to attach to Santa’s Magic Key. This poem and free printable are for you to make a key for Santa for your own home. Now if your house doesn’t have a fireplace and the chimney for Santa to slide down to deliver gifts – this magic key will help him get in. How do you think he’s been going inside homes without fireplaces all these years? Well, our magic key will help save Christmas {wink, wink}. Your kids will be excited to place the key on your front door on Christmas Eve. And Santa will know exactly how to use it.
Use our chalkboard printable and print on heavy white cardstock for a quick and easy little cut and print project or see the tutorial below to paint and create the wood version. The key was purchased at Michaels at the front of the store in the little bins for $1.50.
Supplies:
wood door hanger or wood tag
black craft paint + foam brush
ribbon
old fashioned key – purchased at Michaels
chalk paint pen
Steps:
1. Paint the wood door hanger with black craft paint. You do not need to use chalkboard paint for this craft. Let dry.
2. Write the words you would like on the door hanger.
3. Attach the key and ribbon.
Simple!!
This also make a darling tree decoration until Christmas Eve when it will be hung out on the front door..
The other printable we have is a tag that you can use also to hang on the door. For now, I like it attached to this present. Isn’t it cute?
It looks so pretty in the evening light.
