My family is truly blessed with a lot of wonderful people in our lives… neighbors, teachers, church leaders and others who make our lives so much richer.

At Christmas time we like to make all our friends and family feel as special as they are by giving them something made with love. The majority of the time we make food gifts to give. Gathering together as a family to make homemade Christmas gifts has become one of our treasured family traditions. Having a family night to make gifts for others is a fabulous way to spend time as a family!

Neighbor gift idea: Mistletoe Cider - Design Dazzle

Mistletoe Cider is simply Apple Cider (or juice) plus a blend of spices….everything you need to make a warm, delicious holiday drink that can be enjoyed by kids and adults!

Neighbor gift idea: Mistletoe Cider - Design Dazzle

I purchased 1/2 gallons of apple juice/cider at Target. Both juice and cider are delicious when served warm with the spices. A crock pot is an easy way to serve spiced cider for large gatherings.

Nothing like working on your gift giving while drinking the spiced cider. 🙂

Spiced Cider Mix

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 ½ tsp. ground allspice
  • ½ tsp. ground mace
  • ½ tsp. ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together.

  2. Place 1/3 – 1/2 cup spiced cider mix in small ziploc type bags. Use 1/3 – 1/2 cup of spiced cider mix per 1/2 gallon of juice. You might want to experiment with how much mix to add to see what tastes best with your apple juice.

  3. Heat cider until hot but not boiling. Mix the Spiced Cider Mix in the liquid until sugar is dissolved.

Now it’s time to make your gift presentable!
