    Elegant Feather Christmas Trees

    Hello Design Dazzle Readers!

    My name is Rachel and I am so excited to be here again for Christmas Wonderful!

    You can usually find me creating at Holy Craft

    where I like to share with you tips, tricks and tutorials on  how to live creatively on less.

    Today I want to share with you my elegant feather Christmas trees.

    Each tree cost less than $3 to make and adds such a punch to your holiday decorating.

    I found some paper mache cones on sale at my local craft store.

    The small cones were .99 and the large cones were $1.49.

     I used white spray paint to paint the cones just in case the feathers didn’t cover up the whole cone.

    Since I craft on a budget, I was excited to find a bag of white feathers for only $1.69.

    If you have priced out feathers
    {and why wouldn’t you??}

    you know they can be quite expensive!

    I used less than a bag for each tree.

    I found that it was easier if I organized my feathers by size.

    Start by using your hot glue gun to glue feathers at the base of your cone.

    I left about a half inch overlap from the bottom so the feathers could dust the surface.

    Just make sure you pick feathers to use for this part that aren’t too stiff.

    Using you smaller feathers for the first layer is probably your best bet.

    I don’t want to insult your intelligence by explaining that you just keep gluing feathers row by row up the base of your cone until you get to the top.

     Aren’t these feather trees lovely?!

    I even made an inexpensive feather wreath

    {cost less than $2}

    The accompanying tutorial for the wreath is on my blog today!

    Come on over and check it out!

    Thanks for having me over today Design Dazzle!

    Take a second to enjoy living creatively and visit me at Holy Craft sometime!
