Do you love to sink your teeth into a big, ripe juicy, strawberry? Well, I do and I am just giddy over the fact that starting in April, the peek berry season is finally here! I can’t wait to stock up on my favorite berries, especially my favorite strawberries!
Did you know that you can take these delicious juicy strawberries and make the most moist and amazing strawberry donuts? You absolutely can and it’s way easier than you think!
Find the step by step instructions and recipe to make these baked yummy strawberry donuts for yourself! This is a recipe that your family will LOVE!
- 1/4 c. unsalted butter melted at room temp
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs room temp
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. milk
- 2 ½ all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. fresh strawberries hull removed and diced
- 2 c. powdered icing sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Spray your donut pans with a non-stick baking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, add together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir to combine. Set to the side.
In a separate bowl, add the milk, sugar, egg, butter, and vanilla. Stir until fully combined.
Add your dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir until combined. Add a bit of red food coloring if desired to be more of a colorful donut.
Add your strawberries and fold into the batter.
Spoon batter into donut pan.
Bake for 9-10 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes.
In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk.
Place a piece of foil under the wire rack with the donuts to catch any glaze.
Pour your glaze from the bowl onto the donuts.
