I love to plan and throw big parties and events but sometimes it is nice to celebrate simply. Today I’m partnering with Tai Pei to share a simple and fun Chinese New Year taste adventure and dinner spread. It’s a great way to sample the many different flavors of Tai Pei (single serve entrees and appetizers) and share some of the fun traditions of Chinese New Year. I enjoy sharing other cultures with my family and celebrate the wish of “good fortune” in the year ahead.
The Food
My family really, really liked the food. After trying it all my husband said it was GREAT! The restaurant-inspired Chicken Fried Rice was his favorite but the Beef & Broccoli and Cashew Chicken were a close second. The egg rolls and spring rolls were also delicious and turned out great following oven instructions. Everything was very easy to prepare and ready in minutes! Tai Pei® offers Good Fortune in every Box™.

I follow a gluten-free diet but my family does not, so this dinner was for them to enjoy. We kept our celebration simple and easy with authentic Asian-style appetizers and dinner entrees from Tai Pei. I spent less than $10 on decor and found a few things around the house that fit the theme and colors.
In addition to the food seen here I purchased a larger variety pack to keep on-hand as a quick and yummy appetizer for the Super Bowl. It’s also a great snack to eat after school or work when you need to eat something yummy.
The Decor
.I spent a few dollars to buy a paper fan and paper dragon. It’s always good to have some chopsticks on hand for those willing to try them while eating. All I can say is “good luck”! I’ve never been good at using them. My daughter went to China last year for a semester and loved her visit. She brought home this little Chinese warrior statue shown below.
I made the banner by painting Chinese characters on red lunch sacks. It says, “Happy New Year!”
For the rest of the decor I found things around the house that fit the theme and color scheme of red, black, white, gold, and silver.
This dinner turned out to be a simple and fun way to celebrate the Chinese New Year and it didn’t cost much to put together. You can find more ideas for a Chinese New Year themed dinner from Tai Pei on Pinterest.
