    Christmas Wreath Candy Necklace

Hello Design Dazzle Readers! I’m Christine from I Dig Pinterest. I’m so happy to be here today!
I love this time of year! The kids do too, of course. So I try to find simple ways each day throughout the month of December to constructively channel their excitement. Many times it’s in the form of a fun craft like what I’ll share with you today. It really helps them to get into the spirit of the season and use their creativity at the same time. What child wouldn’t love to make a Christmas Wreath Necklace that’s filled with candy? My kids jumped at the opportunity.
This cellophane necklace may be one of the simplest things you and your kids will ever make, and requires only a few, inexpensive supplies.

    wreath candy necklace

    {SUPPLIES}

    1 roll of cellophane wrap

1 bag White Chocolate Peppermint M&M’s (we’ll just use the red ones)

1 bag Mint (M&M’s) or any other green candies of your choice

    Scissors

Red decorative ribbon (1 thin and 1 wide)

Cut down the entire length of your cellophane, making it about 5″ wide.

This was plenty long enough to fit my six-year-old, but you may need to lengthen it for older children.

Line your green candies down the edge of the cellophane, leaving about 1″ in between each. There should be enough room for 8-9 pouches.

Add at least one red candy to each set to look like holly berries.

Cut about 10 strips of ribbon about 5 ½″ long.

Cut one longer strip of a wider red ribbon that will be your front bow on the wreath.

Roll the cellophane to cover the candies and beginning tying in between each section of candies, starting at the very top.

Now you can either put it on the child first and then tie….

….or tie it first and slip it over the child’s head if they’re small enough.

Tie the wider ribbon in a bow on the center front to complete the look of the wreath. All done! It’s a fun and festive Christmas wreath that can be worn as a necklace, but probably the best part about this craft is that it’s yummy too!

Thanks for having me! I hope you’ll follow I Dig Pinterest for simple kids’ crafts, delicious recipes, DIY home decor and more!
