Sweet Cottage Bedroom

Murals by Morgan painted this totally sweet cottage mural. She says, “This soft wooded landscape mural with clouds that disappear into the 12’ beamed ceiling was designed to compliment the private retreat feel of the alcoves built for the twin beds. This mural was hand painted for my nieces, with their initials “carved” in the stones next to each of their beds.”

A cute, clever idea to have a little “hideout” alcove that is made into a cottage look. Bookcases are installed between the two beds. I wonder if it is an open bookcase so the sisters can still talk to each other while they’re in bed?

Another cottage bed that does double-duty as a bed and a playhouse. This cottage playhouse will set you back lots of money.

Beautiful, but I laugh about the sheets comment. I didnt even think about changing the beds. And now that I think about it…what happens when one of them is sick? Doesnt seem so easy to get in and out…I know…I'm Debbie Downer…

I also didn't think about changing the sheets. It's probably similar to changing sheets on the top bunk bed. It's not the easiest….but somehow gets done.

I like the idea but I would make the alcoves larger than the beds for easier bed making, getting in and out and to grow better with the room/girls. This can only be done in a very large room because adding a wall to the room would certainly take up more floor space than that of the beds and a book case. I bet you can have the same feel with some draping.

If somehow the beds had wheels(back set could lock )then you could just tug it out and change sheets, give sick child meds. It was also the first thing I thought of. So cute!!

My son has a tiny room and my daughter has a huge room with a huge extra closet right next to his. The closet was a tiny half bath. I am going to knock out the wall on the back side of the closet and do this, but in a sports theme! I am so glad to see a picture to show my husband what I have in my head! thanks so much!

Im wondering if you could do this with a closet. Remove the door and insert a bed. At first thats what I thought you did. My oldest daughter has two closets in her room that are on oppisite sides of the room just like yours. Im wondering if I make the door span a little widder I can mimick that look as well. I love the whole idea….Your very talented!

why dont we just put some wheels on the bed… that way we can pull it out when we want to make the bed.
