When I look at a nursery I try to envision what it would be like to be a mom in that space holding a precious little one. I think about what it would be like on a sunny day with a happy baby and how I would feel during those long sleepless nights trying to comfort a teething child. It’s easy to imagine spending those times in this light and airy Orange and Aqua Baby Room designed by Kristen of Cottage Modern! Kristen says that this room is “definitely the bright, fresh space we were going for! I wanted it to have a classic feel, with a bit of whimsy and an interesting color palate that I could build on.” She nailed it! The combination of the white board and batten wall treatment with the color Restoration Hardware’s Pale Silver paint on the walls makes a great backdrop for the accent colors of Benjamin Moore’s Pool Blue and Fireball Orange.
The light fixture is my favorite part of this room. I love the whimsical whales that seem to dance on the shade.
Decoupaged maps on the name work to tie together the room’s colors.
Kristen painted the backs of the shelves a soft aqua to offset the brightly colored accessories.
The orange ribbon provides a fabulous visual edge to the decorative curtain panels.
