A big welcome to our newest contributor – Mariah Leeson of Giggles Galore! Mariah has such creative parties and her blog is chock full of wonderful ideas. I’m super excited to have her as one of our Design Dazzle contributors!
I love celebrating and one of my favorite decorations to incorporate at my parties are DIY party banners. This bright and cheerful fabric banner is the perfect accent to any summer celebration. This reusable banner will add charm to any of your parties or even your kids lemonade stand.
You will need fabric (I bought a 1/4 yard of each color) that coordinates with your parties theme, fabric trimmings, embellishments, binding tape, scissors, glue gun and sewing machine.
I made a paper template roughly 7 1/2 inches wide and 8 inches tall and pinned it to my fabric and cut out two triangles from each fabric pattern.
Next, layout the triangles to determine your placement.
I wanted to embellish each triangle and add a little pizzazz so I used my hot glue gun to add ric rac, buttons, pom fringe, flowers and ribbon.
I also wanted to incorporate our party theme so I made a template on freezer paper for a lemon and cut it out of fabric and sewed it on.
Finally, take your binding tape, open it up and place your triangles in order.
Secure it with pins and sew it together to finish off your banner.
Now you are ready to display your banner at your next party, or celebrate summer with a cool glass of lemonade and make your lemonade stand the best on the block with this sweet banner.
