Create a family cookbook with your kids – scrapbook style! Thanks to Michaels Stores for challenging me to create a Make Every Moment Count by creating a scrapbook project to catalog or display my memories (May is National Scrapbook Month). I decided on cataloging my family recipes into a cookbook! Our family recipes are very important to me and organizing them into a “scrapbook” cookbook is a wonderful family project. Crafting with kids is always fun especially with such a meaningful project.
- Chipboard Journal (Michaels Stores)
- Scrap fabric
- Ribbon (Michaels Stores)
- Scrapbook paper (Michaels Stores)
- Spray Adhesive (Michaels Stores)
- Scrapbook Adhesive
Cut fabric a little larger than chipboard. Spray fabric with spray adhesive. Smooth tightly onto the chipboard. The fabric works nicely on the back. See image below that show the table of contents covering the selvage edges.
I made a cute bow to hot glue onto the front cover.
Here is the cover with the fabric and bow. I used my Cricut to cut out the label and letters for the front.
I placed a table of contents paper onto the back of the cover to hide the selvages.
Add your favorite family recipes. Butter Cream Dream Icing is one of our family favorites and a very much requested recipe.

There are lots of informational videos available at Michaels.com that serve as great tutorials and inspiration for scrapbooking and paper crafting. Thank you to Michaels for inviting me to this challenge.
