Are you into Poodles, Pink or Paris? If so, you might like this room that I designed for my daughter (she used to love pink:)) I started collecting items for this room a little over four years ago. We found out we were moving – so I held off on starting in the room until we moved; I finished the room over 2 years ago. I painted the wall stripes Cupcake by Martha Stewart ( the paints are no longer available but I do have the formula below). The lighter color of the paint is 75% of the original color.
Maroon 1 (64)
R4 New Red 47 (32) 1 (64)
Y3-Deep Gold 1 (32) 1 (120)the numbers in parentheses are the colorant oz
not sure if the maroon is R1?? This paint color is the darker of the pink stripes.
Sewing is a hobby of mine; I sewed the polka dotted seat cushion and collected the rest of the pillows. The wood awning was designed by me and put together by my contractor (who happened to be at our house installing kitchen cabinets).
Round mirror was purchased at Lowes for $10 (don’t cha love this kind of find). As you can see in the reflection of the mirror, there is a full-length mirror on the opposite wall (purchased for $6 from Walmart). I hot glued black feather boas around the perimeter of the mirror.
The chair was designed and made by me a couple of years ago. It’s a no sew project. You can find all the details on how to make this DIY Parisian chair. It’s amazing what a hot glue gun, fishing line, and a rubber band can do : )
Chalkboard paint was used on the closet doors. The doors are trimmed out in the same pink as the dark stripes on the wall. A little heart (with wings) next to the closet doors holds the chalk. My daughter and her friends are constantly writing and rewriting on the chalkboard.
Yes, I know there are no photos in the photos frames. One day….
I love this tea set. I purchased 20 sets when I owned my party business (sold the business and the tea sets). Here is a similar tea set.
This rug was designed and painted by me (inspired by this rug). Want to make your own floor rug? Check out tomorrows blog post for a how-to project.
I’ve been in love with this mannequin dress form – ever since I saw it. The manufacturing company no longer makes it(:
Yes, this use to be a brass chandelier – until I got a hold of it. Blogged about here.
Purchase Eiffel Tower wall decal here.
I know, I know these hat boxes are the cutest!!
The following art pieces would look great in this room. However, I do not know where to purchase them.

I love the awning and the oodles of tulle!
Very cute room. I love the window seat and all the pillows.
OMG, That room has so much Fabulosity in it, I just can’t believe it!!!
Cette pièce est belle! Je regrette que ce ne soit pas le mien!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments! Thanks to Emily for her sweet french words – which translated are – This piece is beautiful! I regret that it is not mine:)
That is an amazing room. Wish I had that when I was little. YOu did a great job. I love the stripes and the chandelier and well… everything about it. Your sewing looks awesome and probably saved you tons of $$$!
Super sweet room! Your daughter is lucky. Of course, I hope she doesn’t get sick of pink!
Now THAT’s a great room Toni! I love everything about it. The chandelier is perfect, along with the custom canopy, and the stripes. So many things here to make it magazine, or Design Dazzle “worthy”. Fabulous job!

Hey Im wanting to design my room like that, i would love it if you could tell me theformula for the paint!!BTW yourdaughter is very lucky 🙂
I love the poodle Paris room. I have been looking for some ideas and I think yours are the best!
Hi! I'm in the process of decorating my adult-version of this Paris, Poodles, and (some) Pink theme! I landed on this blog searching for some finishing touches.
Currently I've got mostly black and white, but the Paris and Poodles are there, I've got damask and polka dots incorporated, and some pink accent color.
Everyone keeps suggesting a pastel pink wall, but I am very averse to that, it to me says "girl aged 13 or under". The advisers all tell me "oh no it doesn't" but I've never wanted a pink wall and to me it does. I'm thinking of going with something the pastel pink accents can be set off against, with a Tiffany Box blue wall perhaps. We'll see.
Thanks for the inspiration! I am actually now wishing I could try to work that awning idea into my window. Probably not, as my living situation is not permanent and windows are very un-standard. 🙂
Just wanted to thank you for some great ideas!
I would love to know the formula for the pink paint… the first try in my daughter's room was NOT good and I think the cupcake color would be fantastic! Cute cute room….
I love pink paris bedroom. i love chair
so cute this is very helpful because i am redoing my room as a pink black and white paris cafe and loveee the tea set:)
I love the room!! I would love to know how you did the awning!
wow I love the room wish mine looked like that
Thanks so much for your post, pretty helpful material.
I would like to know where did you get the hot boxes..I am looking for paper or fabric to make them myself but it is imposible to find it. Ideas please..Rosanet B.
The hat boxes were purchased 10+ years ago. They no longer manufacturer them. Home Goods sometimes sells hat boxes. You could paint them yourself.
Both links are broken and I'd love to know where to get some of this stuff and/or make it.
Love This Room want to do mine like that sooooo bad
have you sold the decor?
Where did you purchase the vanity table? Thanks! Also wondering if you have sold the set?
I have been looking at pink paint samples trying to find the right colors. I just keep coming back to your article. I will take the dark pink formula to the store and have them mix it, but I was wondering if you have any information on the light pink you used? Thanks!
Are you still selling any of the room decorations?
Have u sold everything yet
Would you mind sharing details on how you designed and made the awning
Hi!! I’m soon getting my own room and I want to do it in the paris theme. Mind if I ask how much that was to do the whole room?
The room is fabulous…. am also in the throes of redoing a little girl’s room…. would like to know how the awning was made… thanks….
Maria,
I will be sharing the tutorial sometime July/August. Look for the tutorial…
I love the Poodles, Pink, Paris room! Great job! Do you know if the bedspread is still available and where?
Thank you!
Hi Kim!
The bed spread was purchased about 8-9 years ago. It is no longer available.

I am in the process of doing my daughter’s room in a Paris themed decor. I saw your vanity chair and fell in love. Could you please post the instructions somewhere, in a post or blog? I would love to surprise my daughter with a chair decorated like that. I know she would absolutely adore it. Thanks.
Hi Robin,
I did post instructions on how to make the chair. It was after that blog post. So here you go… http://www.designdazzle.com/2012/04/diy-parisian-chair/
Hope you enjoy! I’m sure your daughter will love it!!

Hi, Where can I buy wide striped pink wallpaper as in this bedroom. Thanks. Helen
Helen,
It is paint not wallpaper. The post describes all about the paint if you need the paint colors.
