Artist of the Month February 2009  Pirate Room Erika Vazzana, The End Design The pirate room mural was painted for a 4 year old little boy and is something he can grow into. Considering the layout of the furniture I concentrated in the areas that were free of furniture even if the client changes it in the future. I had to work with the existing twin bed and created a sense of a Pirate Ship Boat bed- this was an underlying desire that the client had requested. Small touches were added to the room: surf board growth chart, compass above the entry door, map, treasure chest and even sharks fins swimming out in the ocean. Another personal touch for the client was that I had painted five crabs to represent their family of five. I am a Mother of 3 beautiful children and they inspire me everyday to do what I love. I started The End Design over 12 years ago while in college when a family member had asked if I can paint Disney's, The Little Mermaid. It was at that time when I realized this is my passion and my calling. The End Design creates all kinds of murals for residential and commercial clients throughout the Chicago land area.
