 Boat Bed Dadcando The boat bed was steamed laminated ply wood. I did this in my kitchen at Christmas time with the kids running about using two regular steam irons! The handles on the boat bed draws are aluminium fish shaped jelly moulds squeezed in at the sides and painted. The mattress was a standard cot sized mattress and the bed was designed for my boys as an intermediate between cot and full sized bed. It has had a great deal of use over the years and is still in the playroom against a wall where, with cushions on, it is now a small kid sized lounger.
