 Airplane Shelf dadcando The shelves where just plane fun ;-). I carved and polished the propeller from some scrap wood and mounted it on a rod inserted into a ball baring so that it could turn freely. The front of the engine housing was turned on a wood lathe and was the largest piece of wood I could fit on that lathe. The wheels are mdf turned on the lathe and then sawn in half to make the plane really look like it is coming out of the wall. The shelves are now in a larger bedroom. The box design makes them very strong and well secured to the wall, but this is also a heavy piece of furniture, so it needed big screw bolts to holding on to the wall.
