I created a Star Wars themed room for my seven-year-old son. I used “The Woolie” paint roller with two colors of paint, dark blue and black, to give the ceiling a faux galaxy feeling. I painted the entire ceiling and also the walls 18 inches down from the ceiling on all sides. It gave it a wrap-around or dome effect. Then I used fluorescent paints to make stars. I tried glow in the dark paint as well, but it was too runny and didn’t work as well. The stars really pop out when you turn on a black light. I also made a painting of the Death Star on canvas, and made that black light sensitive as well. My mother-in-law had saved some of my husband’s old star wars figurines, along with an old calendar with pictures from the first trilogy. I matched the figures to the calendar photos and framed them in shadowboxes. They turned out really well. See pictures here:

such a fun idea! I can’t wait to own my own home to go all out on a theme for my son’s room! I’m all about secret compartments so that secret hatch looks like so much fun! The baby rooms are the cutest tho i think….or maybe just the easiest hehe
